As we have discussed throughout this series, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) is the answer for businesses looking to run their companies more smoothly and efficiently. From financial management to supply chain management to sales and marketing, Microsoft Dynamics NAV gives companies the tools they need to properly manage every aspect of their business. In previous blogs, we have highlighted the most prominent features included in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Today we will be wrapping up the series with the last two features: human resources management and workspace collaboration.
Human Resources Management
Microsoft Dynamics NAV gives companies the tools to efficiently manage their human resources. Users can group and track employee information and organize data according to different types of information, including experience, skills, education and training. The system stores personal information, tracks job openings within the company and can extract a list of candidates for open positions. Users can keep track of benefits and important company items, as well as easily record all types of absences in measurement of their choosing.
There are three different types of employee portal users within the Microsoft Dynamics NAV system: the Light User, Employee Self Service User and Limited Device CAL. Below is a description of each type of user.
- Light User – This user is a named user and can be used to grant access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV for both internal users such as employees and contractual workers as well as for named third parties such as agents, customers, or contractors which are not part of the company.
- Employee Self Service User – Microsoft Dynamics Employee Self Service User provides a license for access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV data via any other application interface than the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Users.
- Limited Device CAL – Microsoft Dynamics Limited Device CAL provides a license for access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV data via single-purpose devices.
